April 5th, 2012: Cat Haayen, founder of YOGathletA and the City of Gables have teamed up to present the Freedom Flow Project. A weekly, free to the public, outdoor yoga class sponsored by VitaCoco, Phix, W Organics, Publix, Shanti Bars, and Polestar Physical Therapy and Pilates Center. The class is to take place every Wednesday at Riviera Park, Coral Gables (Monza Ave and Yumuri Street) from 6-7 p.m.
The City of Coral Gables introduces the project to help support the well being of its community towards a healthy, well-balanced lifestyle, welcoming both friends and families to come out and practice the ancient tradition of yoga. Through the Freedom Flow Project, our community will not only improve flexibility, balance, and strength, but also embrace a much happier, healthier and sustainable living all around.
About YOGathletA
YOGathetA is one of Miami’s most reformed and yoga genre adopted by local celebrities and pro-athletes. A creation of unique and vigourous-yet-sumotuous methods that are based on the Power Vinyasa techniques intermixed with minor improvements that fit the westernized practice of yoga. Haayen’s art of YOGathetA transmits a rich knowledge in anatomy, physiology and sport specific injury prevention. Cat’s style and craft effortlessly meld awareness with movement and breath. About Cat Haayen
Born and raised in Medellin, Colombia, Cat Haayen earned a Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Med, going back later on to earn a Masters in Montessori Education. Haayen trained in Isla Mujeres, Mexico together with Yoga Source in the area of Power Vinyasa, and has been an instructing her technique for the past 12 years, even going on to create and release her very own YOGathletA DVD.
While living here in Miami, FL Haayen has been teaching classes at some of the most prestigious spas, boutique fitness facilities and yoga studios like, Soho Beach House, Body & Soul and Dharma Studio. Haayen is also an active frontrunner at the Univeristy of Miami, where she participates in entrepreneurial workshops at the School of Economics. Haayen currently resides in Coral Gables, FL alongside her Husband, Sergio Dailva, a Firefighter Paramedic for Miami Dade County and their two dogs.
